Man jumps from bridge to avoid traffic after accident

KANSAS CITY, Kansas - Police have identified the man who died after he fell from the Kansas River Bridge after a multi-car accident Tuesday around 6 a.m. Police said Verner David Estrada-Duran, 35, of Merriam Kan., died after he exited his truck following the accident and tried to avoid swerving traffic by jumping over the rail, falling 50 to 60 feet. Police said icy conditions may have caused the accident and because it was still dark, Estrada-Duran may not have known there was a drop where he jumped.---...More
