Woman charged with DUI tried throwing son over fence

South Carolina – A Spartanburg woman remains in jail after deputies say she tried throwing her 4-year-old son over a fence following a DUI-related car crash on Interstate 26. Nikki Marie Settle, 25, has been charged with second-offense driving under the influence, driving under suspension, third or subsequent offense, leaving the scene of an accident, child endangerment and neglect of a child/helpless person. The car ran off the road and crashed into the cable barrier in the median. The witnesses said the driver, Settle, got out of the car with her 4-year-old son in her arms and ran across the interstate and up a hill, and attempted to throw her son over a 10-foot fence.  more
