Woman drove into crowd of school children
South Carolina - Police say a woman drove into a crowd of children after they refused to move out of the way of her car. Summerville Police charged Amy Lynn Stewart, 34, with four counts of assault and battery in the first degree, Capt. Jon Rogers said. Rogers said a group of children was walking to Alston Middle School on the shoulder of the road about 8 a.m. when a vehicle approached them at the intersection of Tulip Drive and Iris Street. There is no sidewalk at the intersection. The driver honked her horn and when the children didn’t move she drove into the crowd, striking four of the children. More…
