Woman suspected of killing, cooking husband

Islamabad, Pakistan – A Pakistani woman is being held on suspicion of killing her husband, cutting him up and trying to cook the pieces, Karachi police said. Zainab Bibi, 32, was arrested in connection with the murder of her husband Ahmad Abbas. Her 22-year-old nephew, Zaheer Ahmed, is accused of helping Bibi stab Abbas to death and carve his body into small pieces. Police said she wanted to cook her husband’s body parts so she could dispose of them without being caught. Full Article  

Jack Daniel’s gives $100,000 for soldiers to travel home

 Nashville, Tennessee – Tennessee whiskey maker Jack Daniel’s is donating more than $100,000 to pay for plane tickets and travel funds for soldiers at Fort Campbell, Ky., to spend the December holiday season with their families all over the country. The distiller is also asking the public to make additional contributions that could help hundreds of cash-strapped soldiers who otherwise would be stuck at the post on the Tennessee-Kentucky state line. Man mistakes neighborhood for a nearby airport landing strip

Spring Hill, Florida – It appears the pilot of a single-engine plane mistook a Pasco County neighborhood for a nearby airport landing strip. According to deputies, the 22-year-old student pilot said his GPS indicated that Citation Road in the Pasco Trails subdivision was a Pilot Country Airport landing strip. The airport is less than three miles from where he actually landed. His Cirrus SR20 plane hit some mailboxes, small trees and a fence. No one was injured in the landing. A neighbor said he spoke with the pilot afterwards and the pilot was a Chinese national and did not speak English well.  Full Article

Nurse worked six days in nine years

Bologna, Italy – Italian police said they arrested a nurse with the National Health System accused of using bogus excuses to work only six days in nine years. Police said the 45-year-old Bologna woman, whose name was not released, used work-avoiding “tricks” including two false pregnancies and obtaining fraudulent sick notes from doctors, ANSA reported.  Full Article

Man charged with attempted murder in forklift attack

 Apopka, Florida – Deputies say a man tried to kill the occupants of a trailer by repeatedly driving a front-end loading forklift into it. According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, John Miller intentionally drove the forklift into the mobile home he owns on West Ponkan Road, knowing people were inside. The tenant told Local 6 that Miller was trying to evict her, and when she refused to leave, he got behind the wheel of the forklift and rammed into the home. According to the Sheriff’s Office report, the woman pleaded with Miller to stop and told him someone else was inside, but he still proceeded to ram into the home a second time.  Full Article

Michigan – An Isabella County (Michigan) man’s conflicting statements led to an Amber Alert and ultimately the discovery of his wife’s body in a crawl space of their home. Jason Lantz Fish’s claim to his mother-in-law that Stephanie Fish ran off with another man was not consistent with what he told his wife’s boss: that he was taking her to rehab after finding needles in her purse, according the affidavit that let to Jason Fish being charged with murder. The couple’s 4-year-old son, Brody, was with his father when he was found by police at a rest area in Genesee County and later told police that “daddy put mommy in the bathtub and shot her with a gun, bang bang.”  Full Article

Woman arrested for silicone butt implants

 Washington DC – Silicone implants that enlarge the buttocks are illicit and potentially deadly. A woman accused of offering just that service was recently arrested in a downtown D.C. hotel. Federal authorities say women wanted 45-year-old Kimberly Smedley (picture) to give them injections of liquid silicone to increase the size and shape of their buttocks.  Smedley usually performed the injections in hotel rooms and was arrested. At her last treatment, the woman asked for injections in her hips. She was hospitalized two days later from shortness of breath and a computed tomography scan found silicone inside her lungs.  Full Article

City Bans Fake Grass

California – The city of Glendale is imposing a ban on artificial grass. Notices are going out to homeowners whose front yards are covered in turf. Geneva Dotson says she was forced to pay crews $3,000 to rip up her brand new front yard after receiving a notice from city hall. “There’s enough drama in life without having the city breathing down my back,” says Dotson. “I’m very angry about it, to tell you the truth.” City officials say they plan to press criminal charges against those who do not comply with the ban.  Full Article 

Stripper arrested for lingerie theft

Florida – An Orlando woman was arrested on charges of theft and child cruelty after she was caught shoplifting lacy lingerie in the presence of her children, deputies said. According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Ashley Fleischmann, 24, was stopped by a plain-clothes loss prevention officer at the Burlington Coat Factory on East Colonial Drive after she passed all points of sale with no point of returning her clothing items. In the loss prevention office, Fleischmann produced the stolen items from concealed places on her body. Fleischmann told deputies that the articles of clothing were for her to wear at Crystal Cabaret Gentleman’s Club, her place of employment.   Full Article

Dog chases burglar hours after being adopted

Hillsboro, Ohio – A southwest Ohio couple who adopted a Saint Bernard to save him from being put down say he saved their home from burglary a few hours later. Rubert Lee Littler says he was taking Hercules outside at night when the 135-pound dog started growling, then charged after a man running out of their basement. The dog bit into the man’s ankle as he climbed a fence and got away. Police say the home’s phone and cable lines had been cut. Lee and Elizabeth Littler brought the dog home from Highland County’s pound less than seven hours earlier.   more

Egypt – Egypt will close the Great Pyramid of Giza to avoid any rituals by a group rumoured to have plans to mark the date of 11/11/11 at the site, an official said. The decision came after much pressure from Egyptian Internet users that strange rituals were going to be held within the walls of the pyramid on November 11, 2011, Atef Abu Zahab, head of the Department of Pharaonic Archaeology, said. The Supreme Council of Antiquities confirmed the closure Friday of the tourist site, in a statement that only referred to the need for maintenance following a busy period during Muslim holidays.

Man runs out of toilet paper, destroys motel

Charlotte, North Carolina – One man made sure a Charlotte motel was going to pay for him running out of toilet paper. Upset about the lack of toilet paper that was available in his room, a man destroyed $2,090 worth of hotel property. The man grew irate after learning he didn’t have toilet paper and proceeded to walk upstairs to a vacant room that was being renovated. Upon entering the room, he proceeded to clog the toilet, causing water damage to the room, totaling about $2,000 in carpet and ceiling charges. The man would go on to break a blow dryer and several lights, accounting for an extra $90 in charges.  more

Bank Robber Armed With Pesticide

 San Diego, California – A San Diego-area teller was confronted by a bank robber carrying not only a semi-automatic pistol but also a white plastic pesticide sprayer. FBI agents and San Diego County Sherif”s Department investigators released images of a bank robbery suspect carrying an unusual weapon. The man, believed to be about 30 years old, entered a Pacific Western Bank in Rancho Santa Fe carrying the pesticide sprayer, the pistol and demanding money. The suspect, described as white, unshaven with wavy brown hair and approximately 5’11″, was wearing a yellow rain jacket, jeans, a black baseball cap and a dust mask covering his nose and mouth. more

Eric Harris, a 32-year-old convicted pedophile who is serving a life sentence, suggests Lake Correctional Institution’s policy of serving a vegan diet is seriously affecting the quality of his life sentence. Miami Police said the unidentified man was on a ladder trying to duct tape a hole in the wall where he saw bees, and when the bees flew out of the wall, he got startled and fell and died. The man had been renovating a house that has been in his family for years. Hotel Robber Nabbed by Guests in Town for Martial Arts Tourney

Los Angeles – A 31-year-old man accused of robbing a hotel clerk at gunpoint was captured by two martial arts experts visiting from Oregon. Surveillance video shows the suspect, identified as Luis Rosales, wandering around the hotel lobby. He then walks up to the front desk and pulls out a gun, demanding money. During the robbery, an elevator door opened, and two hotel guests who happened to be martial arts experts in town for a martial arts tournament heard the clerk’s cry for help and immediately took action.  more

 Russia – Russian police said they arrested a 45-year-old man who allegedly had the mummified remains of 27 women in his apartment. The government newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazeta reported the man allegedly dug up the women at various cemeteries and put dresses on them. Ankle monitor ties offender to crimes

Hiram, Georgia – Authorities in Georgia said a registered sex offender was connected to three indecent exposure cases using information from his GPS ankle monitor. The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office said information from the ankle monitor worn by Anthony Sims, 42, of Hiram put him at the scenes of three incidents in the area of South Davis Mill and Hiram Sudie roads. Sgt. Brandon Gurley said victims told investigators they spotted a man exposing his genitals near their homes. more

Disabled Vet Forced to Sit in Urine-Soaked Clothing

Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas – An Army veteran who uses a wheelchair said she was forced to urinate on herself  after an American Airlines flight crew allegedly denied her requests to leave the plane before other passengers so she could use an airport restroom. “If I was allowed to leave the plane, this would have never happened.” Wilcox told FoxNews.com that she alerted the crew about her predicament 15 minutes before the plane landed. She asked that she be allowed off first, but was forced to wait until about 75 percent of the plane was cleared out. It was a short trip, so she was traveling light; she was wearing all the clothes she had packed underneath her uniform.  more   

Couple Gave LSD To Their Dog, ran away and hit by car

Georgia – The couple who admitted feeding their dog LSD was hit with a variety of criminal charges stemming from the bizarre incident at their Georgia home. Nicholas Modrich and Jaime Hughes, both 25, were booked last night into the Gwinnett County jail on pot possession, drug paraphernalia, and public indecency charges. The duo mug shots, has not been charged with animal cruelty for providing acid to Oscar, their long-haired dachshund, though cops are continuing to investigate that dosing. The pet subsequently left the couple’s home and was hit by a car, later dying from its injuries.  more  

Cat With 26 Toes Could Save Rescue Shelter

Milwaukee, Wisconsin – A cat with 26 toes is inspiring $26 donations to keep a Milwaukee animal shelter from closing. The Milwaukee Animal Rescue Center was not offered a new lease from the Southridge Mall, and now finds itself in need of some new digs. The shelter, which takes in animals from other humane societies and animal control agencies that might otherwise be put down, doesn’t get any funding and relies on the community for support. Shelter officials are getting some much-needed fundraising help in the form of Daniel, a 26-toed feline who calls the shelter home and is inspiring $26 donations to help cover the $40,000 down payment on an alternative building. more

Kids push shopping cart off 4th floor, hits woman

 New York – A bizarre incident has left a woman in critical condition in Harlem. A 47-year-old woman was walking with her 14-year-old son outside the Target store in East Harlem. Witnesses said a group of kids pushed a shopping cart off the fourth floor walkway that connects the store to a parking garage. The woman was struck on the head by the falling cart. Two 12-year-olds are in custody. They face assault charges and criminal possession of weapon – namely the cart. more

New York – An 80-year-old man who went out to get his morning newspaper fell into an 8-foot sinkhole that opened up in his Long Island lawn. Michael Ciron was not seriously injured in his ordeal, and even boasted that he managed to hang onto the papers. He yelled for his daughter, who woke up and came to his aid by calling police and firefighters to the Oceanside home. Ciron, who was wearing slippers, found himself stuck in wet, shifting sand. “It was scary down there,” he told Newsday.  more
