Juror’s love note almost derails Connecticut massacre case


Connecticut - A juror in the Connecticut massacre trial nearly derailed the penalty phase of the case when it was revealed she passed a note to a court marshall trying to set up an illicit date. Last month Steven Hayes, 47, was found guilty of capital felony, murder and sexual assault. Judge Jon Blue excused the jury to address another matter: a napkin scrawled with a message written by a juror and intended for a court marshall. Blue had the court clerk read the note aloud: ‘Sunday 5 p.m., Side Street Grille. Can we?’...More
