Hoshiarpur - In a suspected case of honor killing, a couple in Hoshiarpur allegedly electrocuted their daughter and tried to set afire her lover who is now battling for life in a hospital. Police officials said Sher Singh and his wife Paramjeet Kaur had gone to Jammu for collecting a certificate of their daughter from Jammu University and were scheduled to return on Saturday, but happened to come back home early on Friday evening. After finding his 20-year-old daughter with her boyfriend, Sher Singh strangled her to death and tried to kill the youth, Gagandeep Singh by burning him in his car after beating him.

London, England - A former royal aide convicted of murdering her boyfriend has failed to return to prison on schedule, British police said Tuesday. Jane Andrews, 42, did not report back to East Sutton Park prison, southeast of London, on Sunday night, Kent Police said. Andrews worked as a personal dresser to Sarah Ferguson, then the Duchess of York, for nine years until 1997. She was convicted of murdering Thomas Cressman, 40, in their London home in a fit of rage in 2000. DAVIE, Florida - Police have arrested a 21-year-old woman accused of having her boyfriend killed for $200. Jose Manuel Matute-Hernandez was fatally shot on his living room couch. Authorities arrested his girlfriend, Sibia Martinez, Jose Suarez and Cesar Banegas for orchestrating the death. All three have been charged with premeditated murder.

Odd News-Mom accused of duct-taping daughter's boyfriend

ADELANTO, Calif. – Authorities arrested a woman for allegedly trying to kidnap her daughter's boyfriend and haul him away to Northern California. A sheriff's spokeswoman said Tuesday that two women went to the young man's home on Saturday afternoon and tried to tie him up with duct tape.

The victim told authorities the women said they were taking him to get him away from one of the women's 21-year-old daughter. Authorities said both women were arrested on suspicion of attempted kidnapping.

Officials said the girlfriend was later arrested for investigation of dissuading a witness and extortion for allegedly trying to get her boyfriend to recant his statements on the kidnapping to authorities.
