RIYADH (Reuters) - The United Arab Emirates has stopped a Ramadan soap opera after complaints in Saudi that it was stoking ancient tribal rivalries, Arab media reported this week.


The UAE official news agency WAM said Monday that President Khalifa bin Zayed had ordered Abu Dhabi Television to end broadcasts of "Saadoun al-Awajy," which had been running nightly throughout the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan "in response to appeals by several Arab tribes."

Stupid News:TV Chef Stabs Himself in the Chest With Kitchen Knife

London - An Italian chef and cooking show host was rushed to the hospital after stabbing himself in the chest with a kitchen knife at his London apartment, the Daily Mail reported Friday. TV chef Antonio Carluccio was in the intensive care unit at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital after doctors feared the blade may have punctured his lung. It is not clear whether Carluccio, 71, was trying to kill himself. His spokeswoman said she does not know yet if the stabbing was a suicide attempt, the Daily Mail reported....article
